Softball Recap: Roger Bacon's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Roger Bacon can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against the Norwood Indians by a score of 7-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Kendra Gee made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Gee wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Ernst, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4. Ernst also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Ella Schlegel was another, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Roger Bacon's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Norwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Roger Bacon will host Cincinnati Country Day at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Norwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Cincinnati Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.75 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
