Soccer Game Preview: Maine South vs. Lincoln Park

The Maine South Hawks will square off against the Lincoln Park Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Maine South played in-conference for the first time on Thursday and got just the result they were looking for. They skirted past Glenbrook South 2-1.

Grace Koch and Kelsey Rouse scored both of Maine South's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Lincoln Park brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over Payton College Prep on Friday. The result was nothing new for Lincoln Park, who have now won nine matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Maine South's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four games. As for Lincoln Park, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-5.

Maine South took their victory against Lincoln Park in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0 score. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
