Soccer Game Preview: Rustburg vs. Amherst County

Rustburg hasn't had much luck against Amherst County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Rustburg's offense. They lost 8-0 to Glass on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Rustburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Glass are ranked 27th).

Meanwhile, Amherst County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Liberty, falling 4-0.

Amherst County's loss dropped their record down to 1-6-1. As for Rustburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5-1.
