Softball Recap: Rome Wolves vs. Darlington Tigers
The matchup between Rome and Darlington on Wednesday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Rome Wolves lost 18-9 to the Darlington Tigers. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Jakayla Strickland was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits. Aaliyah Helton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2.
Rome's loss dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Darlington, the win snapped their losing streak at 17 games and leaves them with a 2-19 record.
Rome does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Darlington, they will face off against Heard County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
