Preview: McEachern Indians vs. Campbell Spartans
The McEachern Indians will be playing at home against the Campbell Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McEachern will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
McEachern put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hillgrove 38-0 at home. Given McEachern's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Hillgrove is ranked 155th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McEachern can attribute much of their success to Jaydon Kinney, who threw for 258 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes. Dy?lon Womack made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, last Friday just wasn't the day for Campbell's offense. They were beaten by Westlake 35-0. Campbell has struggled against Westlake recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
McEachern pushed their record up to 6-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.0 points per game. As for Campbell, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for McEachern against Campbell when the teams last played back in October of 2021 as the team secured a 36-7 victory. Will McEachern repeat their success, or does Campbell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
