League recap: League lead hangs in balance for Lewis Mills, Northwestern Regional this week

Berkshire league recap: 5/7/12

Northwestern Regional trails Lewis Mills by just 0.50 games in the league standings, which means there could have a new first-place team by next week.

Terryville (9-5, 9-5) has won eight games in a row, Berkshire's longest active win streak. In the past week, the Kangaroos won another 4 games, includinga 4-2 victory over Wamogo Regional and a 4-2 win over Wamogo Regional.

Gilbert's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only 11 hits and five walks, both of which led the league. The Yellowjackets have given up a mere 101 hits on the year in addition to compiling 73 strikeouts. Austin Brochu is the leader in that category with 40 Ks on the season.

Wamogo Regional's Brendan Roden led the league with seven hits this week. His 23 hits for the year are first in the league, and he boasts a .479 batting average.
