Baseball Recap: Lake Braddock's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lake Braddock ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the West Potomac Wolverines 3-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bruins as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Lake Braddock got a great performance from Leo Dell'Omo as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Dell'Omo has become a key player for the Bruins: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 8-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Matt Schaeb was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

The victory got Lake Braddock back to even at 10-10. As for West Potomac, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lake Braddock beat West Potomac by a score of 3-2 later that day.
