Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Maryvale Prep against Phoenix Day School for the Deaf as the squad secured a 61-34 win. The Matador pushed the score to 54-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Roadrunners cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Sequoia Pathway Academy took a blow against Anthem Prep on Friday, falling 98-22. The Pumas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maryvale Prep pushed their record up to 4-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Sequoia Pathway Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
