While San Ysidro put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Monte Vista. The Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Monarchs 56-0. Considering the Cougars have won six games by more than 31 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Vida Sanchez, who threw for 178 yards and five TDs while completing 86.7% of her passes, and also rushed for 62 yards and one score on only six carries. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in passer rating (163.3).
San Ysidro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Isabella Guzman led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Valentina Melendrez got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
