Putnam County put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 73-67 W over the Southwest Atlanta Christian Warriors. Given the War Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Warriors are ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Putnam County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jmari Greene, who posted 20 points and five assists. Those five assists gave Greene a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tamaud Woodson, who went 7 for 11 en route to 16 points.

Greene wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Putnam County was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwest Atlanta Christian only racked up 13 assists.

Despite the defeat, Southwest Atlanta Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chase Wiggins dropped a double-double on 19 points and 21 boards. Those 21 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Wiggins. Tavaris Burleson was another key player, going 6 of 7 on his way to 14 points and five boards.

Putnam County's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-0. As for Southwest Atlanta Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Putnam County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-53 loss against Greenforest on the 17th. As for Southwest Atlanta Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 82-73 defeat against McNair on the 17th.
