Volleyball Recap: Fort Wayne Northrop Takes a Loss

Fort Wayne Northrop lost against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bruins took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Fort Wayne Northrop started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-21, 25-4, 25-16.

Kalaeh Alexander paced Fort Wayne Northrop's offense, picking up ten kills. Alexander got some help from Madison Corley and her 24 assists. Jersey Webb controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Kayla Smith had an outrageously good game for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers as she had 22 digs and four assists. That's the most digs Smith has posted since back in September.

Fort Wayne Northrop's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 11-16.

Fort Wayne Northrop wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Mississinewa on the 4th. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, they will host Fort Wayne Snider at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
