Soccer Game Preview: Bridgeport vs. University

The Bridgeport Indians will square off against the University Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bridgeport will be strutting in after a win while University will be coming in after a loss.

Bridgeport is headed into the match having not lost since September 6 and will look to keep things rolling. They never let Elkins get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering Bridgeport have won ten contests by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, University was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Parkersburg, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Parkersburg are ranked 19th).

Bridgeport is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 72 goals over those 13 matches. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
