Basketball Recap: Harman Panthers vs. Union Tigers
Harman unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 54-6 loss at the hands of the Union Tigers on Friday. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row dating back to last season.
Union had a senior duo take command as Sophie Carr went 10 of 14 en route to 20 points and seven steals and Lexi Stahl went 8 of 13 on her way to 18 points along with six steals and five assists. Those seven steals gave Carr a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chanelle Sutton, who posted eight points and six rebounds.
The victory made it two in a row for Union and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Harman Panthers take on the East Hardy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Union, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tygarts Valley at 6:00 p.m.
