Football Game Preview: Catholic - N.I. Panthers vs. Notre Dame Pioneers

The Catholic - N.I. Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Notre Dame Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Catholic - N.I. will be looking to extend their current 16-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Last Thursday, Catholic - N.I. was fully in charge, breezing past Patterson 56-21. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Lumberjacks are ranked 202nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Owen Morris went supernova, rushing for 93 yards and two TDs on only eight carries.

Catholic - N.I. didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Maddox Nacol and Cooper Parich.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 24-20 to Teurlings Catholic. The defeat continues a trend for the Pioneers in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost five in a row.

Catholic - N.I.'s win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Notre Dame, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Catholic - N.I. strolled past Notre Dame in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a score of 42-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
