Baseball Recap: Moriah Comes Up Short

Moriah extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 3-6 in the process. They fell 5-1 to the Plattsburgh Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-8 on Tuesday.

Moriah saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Pelkey, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Plattsburgh, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games.

On Plattsburgh's side, the team relied heavily on Nate Baker, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Baker has become a key player for the Hornets: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

Moriah didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-3 victory against Northern Adirondack on the 5th. As for Plattsburgh, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-6 loss against Peru on the 5th.
