Baseball Recap: Cibola Wins Going Away Against Gila Ridge

Cibola barely beat Gila Ridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Hawks on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Isaac Lopez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rodrigo Orozco Araiza was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Alfredo Lugo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Cibola always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gila Ridge only posted an OBP of .231.

Cibola's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Gila Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cibola will take on Westwood at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gila Ridge, they will head out to square off against Youngker at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Roughriders will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
