Recap: Cannon Cougars vs. Winston-Salem Christian Lions
The Cannon Cougars entered their tilt with the Winston-Salem Christian Lions with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Cannon walked away with a 65-53 victory over Winston-Salem Christian on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for Cannon, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cannon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madison Drayton, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Drayton hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Maya Mccorkle was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Cannon has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Winston-Salem Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cannon will take on Charlotte Latin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winston-Salem Christian, they will be playing at home against NC GBB Academy National at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
