Volleyball Recap: Fredericktown Comes Up Short

Fredericktown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Potosi Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Potosi scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-17.

Maggie Wood paced Fredericktown's offense, picking up six kills. Wood got some help from Bristol Rehkop and her 12 assists.

Potosi was led to victory by Macyn McCarthy and Adalynn Gibson. McCarthy had ten digs and five aces, while Gibson had 15 assists and five digs. Gibson is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season. Kaydence Eden also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Fredericktown's loss dropped their record down to 12-15-1. As for Potosi, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4-2 record this season.

Fredericktown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Central on the 14th. As for Potosi, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Bismarck on the 16th.
