Basketball Recap: Lafayette Takes a Loss

Lafayette was the 45-29 winner over Barbe when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lafayette Lions took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Barbe Buccaneers on Friday.

Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 20-15. As for Barbe, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 25-15.

Coming up, Lafayette will take on New Iberia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lafayette is facing New Iberia at the right time seeing as New Iberia is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Barbe, they will face off against Sulphur at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sulphur will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Barbe surely won't give up without a fight.
