Orange Beach hadn't done well against Bayside Academy recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Makos walked away with a 4-1 win over the Admirals. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Matthew Hoover spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Colton Boyd was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Joel Chandler was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Orange Beach's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Bayside Academy, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Orange Beach will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Admirals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
