Softball Recap: Franklin Road Academy Triumphs

Franklin Road Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They never let the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.

Middle Tennessee Christian's batters probably weren't too happy with Millie Pardue, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Pardue has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maillie Fuson, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Franklin Road Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin Road Academy will face off against The Webb School at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers are facing the Feet at the right time seeing as the Feet are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they will head out to square off against Columbia Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
