Basketball Game Preview: Carver Yellowjackets vs. Cherokee Braves

Carver is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mitchell, sneaking past 50-47.

Meanwhile, Cherokee entered their tilt with Bradford Prep on Tuesday with 11 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 12. They blew past the Bears 83-28. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Bears are ranked 413th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cherokee's win was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points over those games. As for Carver, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
