Soccer Recap: North Wilkes Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when North Wilkes and East Surry meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Vikings fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1. North Wilkes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East Surry apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

North Wilkes' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for East Surry, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

North Wilkes has already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against North Surry on the 21st. As for East Surry, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 0-0 draw against Alleghany on the 18th.
