Baseball Recap: Brunswick School's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Brunswick School dropped their record down to 10-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Salisbury School Crimson Knights, falling 11-1. The Bruins were not able to make up for their loss to the Crimson Knights from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Brunswick School saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maximus Gabelli, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Gabelli's first of the season.

As for Salisbury School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.

On Salisbury School's side, Matt Chirumbolo tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Michael Fiatarone, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas O'Connell, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Coming up, Brunswick School will be playing in front of their home fans against Cheshire Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Bruins' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Salisbury School, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-0 victory against Wilbraham & Monson Academy on the 3rd.
