It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Rocklin had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Manteca Buffaloes with a sharp 30-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Thunder, who have now won eight games by 21 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Rocklin's win came down to the chemistry between Reeve Slone and his top target Mavrik Collins. Slone threw for 213 yards and four touchdowns while Collins picked up 70 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

One reason for the win was Rocklin's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Chase Baker was especially locked on to Manteca's QB and sacked him twice. Alex Durham was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 12 total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

Rocklin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those good results were due in large part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.8 points per game. As for Manteca, they moved to 10-2 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.
