Argyle had won two straight road games and Makenna Gregory did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Eagles walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Birdville Hawks for which the team can thank Gregory, who had nine digs and two aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

The win didn't come easy: Birdville scored at least 23 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 21-25, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Birdville had strong showings from Makena Wharton, who had 18 digs and six assists, and Elly Stokely, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Argyle's victory bumped their record up to 27-3. As for Birdville, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Argyle will face off against rival Richland at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Birdville is set to take on their familiar foe Denton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
