La Plata is 0-8 against Northern since April of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Warriors will take on the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. La Plata is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
La Plata will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against St. Charles on Tuesday. The Warriors blew past St. Charles 14-1. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by nine runs or more this season.

Addison Jones was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Leah Buck also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
La Plata was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Northern waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 4-1.
Haylee Sterken was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Zoey Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run.
Northern pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for La Plata, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. La Plata hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .385. However, it's not like Northern struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
La Plata couldn't quite get it done against Northern in their previous meeting on Monday as they fell 4-1. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
