Softball Recap: Columbus North Comes Up Short

Columbus North came into this matchup off a tough 11-run loss on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Bedford North Lawrence Stars by a score of 8-6 on Saturday. The Bull Dogs have struggled against the Stars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Summer Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Miley McClellan was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Columbus North now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Bedford North Lawrence, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Looking ahead, Columbus North will be playing at home against Floyd Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bedford North Lawrence, they will venture away from home to face off against Center Grove at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Stars surely won't give up without a fight.
