Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia extended the longest winning streak in Western Illinois Valley - North this week by beating Unity/Seymour, 50-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Trojans.
Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia moved up to 210 from 248 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Rich Thompson's team was able to make the jump by beating the Mustangs 50-0.
Central/Southeastern's dynamic duo of Seth Leezer and Douglas Weese proved tough for Routt Catholic to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Leezer threw for 12 yards and one touchdown and Weese had 12 yards receiving.
Matt Parker was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 112 yards on 13 carries as the Trojans defeated the Rockets. Derrek Schone also contributed to the rushing game with 71 yards on the ground.
Routt Catholic's Connor Stremlau and Nick Lonergan have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Western Illinois Valley - North in both passing and receiving yards. Stremlau has thrown for 296 yards this season, while Lonergan, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has three catches for 117 yards. Central/Southeastern's Dalton Heubner leads the league in rushing yards with 715.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia takes on second place Central/Southeastern. Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia defeated Unity/Seymour last week, while the Panthers beat Nate Graham's team.
