Basketball Recap: The Gregory School Comes Up Short

If The Gregory School was feeling good fresh off their 48-22 takedown of Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gregory School Hawks were beaten by the Benson Bobcats 66-12 on Wednesday. The Hawks have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Zena Smith was The Gregory School's leading scorer, having posted six points. Lauren Horowitz took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

The Gregory School's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Benson, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Gregory School will welcome Catalina at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gregory School is facing Catalina at the right time seeing as Catalina is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Benson, they and Valley Union will face off at 11:20 a.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Valley Union's defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so Benson's offense will have their work cut out for them.
