Basketball Recap: Valley Christian Continues Road Dominance on Saturday

Valley Christian had won nine straight games and Carson Grier did his part to make it ten on Saturday. The Valley Christian Trojans put the hurt on the Gilbert Christian Knights with a sharp 76-52 win thanks in part to Grier, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Colby Jessup was another key player, putting up 20 points and eight boards. His evening made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Owen Fermoyle, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Burr, who posted 12 points.

Valley Christian pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.3 points. As for Gilbert Christian, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-7.

Valley Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 90-36 win against Coolidge on the 28th. As for Gilbert Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-49 victory against Benjamin Franklin on the 27th.
