Basketball Recap: Lisbon Comes Up Short

Lisbon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 27th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Oak Grove Lutheran Grovers and fell 78-34. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-8.

Lisbon lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brynley Differding, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Carly Mairs, who posted 11 points.

Lisbon's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Oak Grove Lutheran, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Coming up, Lisbon will welcome Wahpeton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncos will be up against the Huskies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Oak Grove Lutheran, they will face off against Central Cass at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
