Schurr is a perfect 10-0 against San Gabriel since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Matadors at 3:30 p.m. Schurr is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Schurr's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 24-0 margin over Montebello. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by eight runs or more this season.
Amanda Gonzalez and Sophia De Santiago made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Gonzalez pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, De Santiago tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Gonzalez has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Gonzalez went 1-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while De Santiago went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Gonzalez has posted since back in March of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Angela Perez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Schurr kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, San Gabriel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against Alhambra, falling 20-2.
Schurr has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for San Gabriel, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
Schurr took their win against San Gabriel in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 14-0 score. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Matadors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
