Softball Game Preview: North Salinas Vikings vs. Watsonville Wildcatz

The North Salinas Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Watsonville Wildcatz at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

North Salinas came into this matchup off a tough 15-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Hollister by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since April 4th.

Meanwhile, Watsonville came up short against Monterey on Friday, falling 10-1.

Watsonville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ruiz Bella, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Watsonville's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for North Salinas, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

North Salinas couldn't quite get it done against Watsonville in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 6-3. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
