Volleyball Game Preview: Centennial Baptist Mustangs vs. North Star Huskies

Centennial Baptist hasn't had much luck against North Star recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Mustangs will take on the Huskies at 11:30 a.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Centennial Baptist lost 3-0 to Riverstone International on Thursday.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Riverstone International scored at least 21 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-21.

Despite the defeat, Centennial Baptist saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Leilani Malepeai had 11 kills, four digs, two blocks, and two aces. Malepeai has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Hayek, who had six kills and six digs.

Meanwhile, North Star came up short against Wilder on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-23, 25-18, 21-25, 25-11.

North Star's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Centennial Baptist, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
