Football Recap: South Philadelphia Takes a Loss

South Philadelphia managed to slip by Academy at Palumbo the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Rams lost 22-0 to the Griffin on Saturday. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Griffin apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

South Philadelphia's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Academy at Palumbo, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, South Philadelphia is taking a road trip to face off against High School of the Future at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Academy at Palumbo, they will square off against Benjamin Franklin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Griffin 7.2, the Electrons 9) so any points scored will be well earned.
