Recap: Charles J. Colgan Sharks vs. Hylton Bulldogs
The Charles J. Colgan Sharks can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They breezed by Hylton on the road to the tune of 60-20. Given Charles J. Colgan's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Hylton is ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brianna Long was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nadia Grant, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Mara Crawford and Raegan Cathcart certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Crawford scored eight points, while Cathcart scored seven points.
The victory made it two in a row for Charles J. Colgan and bumps their season record up to 13-9. As for Hylton, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-21.
Charles J. Colgan will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Potomac Senior at 6:00 p.m. Charles J. Colgan is coming into the match with five straight wins at home, so Potomac Senior is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Hylton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
