Basketball Recap: Grand Junction Central Takes a Loss

Grand Junction Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Fruita Monument Wildcats 63-30. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Fruita Monument was led to victory by Jhett Wells and Daniel Thomason. Wells went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds, while Thomason went 7 of 8 on his way to 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Thomason's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Josh Huskey, who posted nine points and five boards.

Grand Junction Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Fruita Monument, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Grand Junction Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-41 loss against Grand Junction on the 24th. As for Fruita Monument, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 44-26 win against Palisade on the 24th.
