Soccer Game Preview: Liberty Hill vs. Burbank

The Liberty Hill Panthers will square off against the Burbank Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Hill is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Liberty Hill is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Liberty Hill who was credited with the victory. Liberty Hill got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Boerne's four. The win was all the more spectacular given Liberty Hill's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Boerne are ranked 80th).

Burbank will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating MacArthur, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Burbank sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over MacArthur on Thursday.

Gael Hernandez and Samuel Olguin scored both of Burbank's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 43 goals.

Burbank has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those nine contests. Liberty Hill's victory bumped their record up to 11-7-7.
