Softball Recap: Avery Comes Up Short

Avery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Non Varsity Opponent. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly five runs.

Kristin Burkett made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Avery's loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Coming up, Avery will head out to take on Sulphur Bluff at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they will host Big Sandy at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
