Recap: Palatka Panthers vs. Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors
The Palatka Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 22 points or more this season. They took their game on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 46-16 win over Trinity Christian Academy. Given Palatka's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Trinity Christian Academy is ranked 554th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Palatka found their leader in underclassman Jhane Fountain , who scored 14 points along with four steals. Fountain has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Charnelle Cue was another key contributor, scoring six points.
The victory (which was Palatka's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palatka will challenge Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eastside has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Andrew Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
