Softball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 23-6 to the Mt. Hermon Yellowjackets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-7 last Friday.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Mt. Hermon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Independence will face off against North Iberville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.08 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mt. Hermon, they will square off against Family Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
