Baseball Recap: Midland Trail Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Midland Trail waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Bluefield Beavers with a sharp 10-1 win. The Patriots not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2nd (when they won 16-2).

Preston Eades made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gregory Cramer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nick Workman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Midland Trail's record is now 8-17. As for Bluefield, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.

Looking ahead, Midland Trail will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Webster County at 5:30 p.m. As for Bluefield, they will face off against Mount View at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
