Basketball Game Preview: Riverside Warriors vs. South Charleston Black Eagles

Riverside is 2-8 against South Charleston since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Riverside Warriors will take on the South Charleston Black Eagles at 2:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Riverside is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 64-30 loss at the hands of Sissonville. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Indians are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, South Charleston came up short against Cabell Midland on Wednesday, falling 46-20. The Black Eagles have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for South Charleston, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Riverside against South Charleston in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-27 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Riverside since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
