Baseball Recap: Macon County's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

If Macon County was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of DeKalb County on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell just short of the Allen County-Scottsville Patriots by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 12-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Landon Connor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Braylon Flowers was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Macon County moved to 16-10 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak. As for Allen County-Scottsville, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.

Coincidentally, Macon County and Allen County-Scottsville will both be playing Hart County the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Patriots will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
