Genoa Central is 9-1 against Centerpoint since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Last Monday, Genoa Central got the win against Fouke by a conclusive 8-1.

Centerpoint never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Blevins on Tuesday. They blew past the Hornets 15-3. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won three games by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Drew Davis made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Blake Tigue was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Centerpoint: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kaison Snider, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Centerpoint kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Centerpoint's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Genoa Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Everything went Genoa Central's way against Centerpoint when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Genoa Central made off with a 10-0 win. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
