Softball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 20-3 to the Piute Thunderbirds. If the Buckaroo were looking for revenge after losing 14-1 to the Thunderbirds when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Monticello saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Barry, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Piute, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Thunderbirds beat Monticello by a score of 27-12 later that day.
