Baseball Recap: Howards Grove Comes Up Short

Howards Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Omro Foxes. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since May 29, 2025.

Howards Grove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Bettack, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Howards Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Omro, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Howards Grove will face off against Roncalli at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.75 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Omro, they will square off against Lomira at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
