Softball Recap: Southwest SD Takes a Loss

Southwest SD's last matchup with Hilltop could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Wednesday. The Raiders lost 8-2 to the Lancers. The match marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Samantha Ramirez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Aketzalli Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Southwest SD and nudges their season record down to 8-6. As for Hilltop, they moved to 8-10-1 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Southwest SD is taking a road trip to challenge Montgomery at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hilltop, they will challenge Chula Vista Learning Community Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
