Paradise Honors is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Thunderbird is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Panthers will welcome the Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Paradise Honors barely beat Bradshaw Mountain the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Bears 19-2 on Thursday.
Olivia Jimenez Facio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI.

In other batting news, Paradise Honors got a massive performance out of Abigail Rodriguez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Rodriguez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lexi Jordan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Paradise Honors was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .629. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Thunderbird got the win against Goldwater on Wednesday by a conclusive 16-1.
Like Paradise Honors, Thunderbird also got a great game from a two-way player: Alicia Flores. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Flores has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Kenli Flores was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Brianna Nystuen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Thunderbird's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Paradise Honors, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Paradise Honors has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .540. However, it's not like Thunderbird struggles in that department as they've averaged .488. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
